SCADSA

In the Netherlands, CO₂ can be stored underground in empty gas fields and in aquifers under the North Sea. TNO's Geological Survey of the Netherlands conducted research for the Ministry of Climate and Green Growth to estimate storage capacity. This took into account recent developments in the storage and transport capacity of CO₂ in the Netherlands and obligations under EU legislation.

In addition to the studies, a calculation tool has been developed ("SCADSA”), which estimates the theoretical CO₂ storage capacity of individual aquifer projects.
