A new data type is now available on NLOG: salt cavern cavity determination data. This data type provides access to datasets and associated reports that offer insight into the shape and size of salt caverns.
These data form part of the measurements carried out by mining operators in relation to ground movement, as required under the Dutch Mining Act and its associated regulations (Mining Decree, Articles 30 through 33).
The introduction of this data type aligns with broader efforts to improve access to information on ground movement. Earlier, the Ground Movement Monitoring Dashboard was introduced for this purpose. With the addition of salt cavern cavity determination data, relevant information on salt caverns is now easier to find and more readily available to users working with data related to salt extraction, underground storage, and ground movement.
The data can be accessed through the Interactive Map and the Data Center. To view the information, select a rock salt-related well and then navigate to the Documents tab.
