The Mining Act data management team has developed a new guidance document for the submission of mining data. The document provides practical guidance for everyone involved in data reporting and clearly outlines which data must be submitted under the Dutch Mining Act, to whom, and at what stage. The document is only available in Dutch.
The guidance document replaces the 2022 NOGEPA Charter and has been expanded and clarified in scope and content. For example, it includes explanations of obligations that are relevant not only to the hydrocarbon industry, but also to geothermal energy, salt extraction, and the storage of substances. In addition, technical specifications for different data types and clear definitions have been added, making data submissions simpler and more consistent.
As a result, the document serves both as a practical reference guide and as a useful starting point for organizations seeking a quick overview of their obligations regarding the submission of mining data. The guidance document can be found on the NLOG website at Gegevensverstrekking aan de overheid | NLOG or directly via Richtlijnen gegevensverstrekking volgens de Nederlandse Mijnbouwwet | NLOG.
